Daniel and Sarah are brother and sister and jointly own Daniel Ross Funerals. Their special relationship is one that sets their company apart from the increasingly ‘faceless’ large chains of funeral directors.
Daniel and Sarah were not born into the funeral profession but were drawn to this vocational role following the loss of their niece, Millie Grace Mary. Together they entered the profession under the direction and influence of an accredited fifth generation independent family funeral director, Mr Peter Gaunt.
Alongside this strong mentored path, their professional qualifications were achieved through private tutoring and Sarah, who holds the Diploma of Funeral Directing (awarded by the National Association of Funeral Directors), has developed herself within the Bereavement Sector in voluntary bereavement one on one support, facilitated group support and established links with the National Bereavement Charity, Cruse.
Daniel has developed himself to become accustomed with many different cultural and religious beliefs, now specialising in assisting families with repatriation, to and from their home countries. In addition, Daniel has conducted many non-religious funeral services for families, children and babies.
Grace Mary House Funeral Home
Opened in November 2009, Grace Mary House Funeral Home was purchased and renovated to cater solely for the needs of a bereaved family. A further extension was added in 2016 to enhance our current facilities and provides a further family room, another Chapel of Rest but most importantly, improved care and preparation suites. This is where we can ensure that loved ones are being looked after in the most respectful and dignified way and where they will rest at all times until the day of their funeral. Families’ loved ones are given same-sex care by either Daniel or Sarah and family participation is welcome, should this be your wish.
Families will feel supported throughout the arrangements and their decisions will be respected and honoured. For families struggling with the arrangements, we will be only too willing provide options and guidance to assist you.
A range of services
Daniel and Sarah have arranged and conducted many prestigious and elaborate funerals with hundreds of mourners in attendance and also many private and intimate services with only immediate family members present.
Sadly, there are many families who have needed to return to Daniel and Sarah over the years, but have commented that their individual, personal service and level of commitment remains unchanged. It is also families, previously supported, that we consider to the best judge of the services that we can provide for you. To this end, please do take the time to read our testimonials section for honest feedback that we have gathered.
Both Daniel and Sarah are proud but humbled to have found their vocation, and would be honoured to support you and your family in your time of need.
